Tranquility has now been up for two hours in the VIP mode and so far verification and quality control has not uncovered any serious issues.
Pleased but wary that, like many of the previous patches, I'll find something wonky in the first 3 minutes that QA apparently missed in hours of testing.
Yeah but let's assume they have 10 people doing the QA for this downtime. It's a random guess, but go with it for the moment. Those ten people in a few hours this afternoon will test "normal stuff" and "new stuff". They can't hope to replicate or anticipate the billions of combinations of in-game actions and server calls that the playerbase will activate when they log in and start doing "wierd stuff".
So if for example a typo in line #24998761 of a bit of code means that if you undock from a Pator Tech station in a Kestrel at 16:03 on a Wednesday with exactly 10012 pieces of Federation Antimatter on board in 37 stacks - you will get an artifact of a large sansha wreck in your overview... someone somewhere will still forum-rage about "OMG u did nt spot that in ur testingz???!! I has tried to salvage it, u owe me 53 alloyed trit bars NAOW!"
If, alright let's be honest "when" you find a bug or error, please PLEASE report it. Not in an unrelated forum threadnaught or in adolescent gibberish, but a clear and concise description of what's wrong and as much info about what you were doing at the time, via the bug report option or a petition.

Originally by: SIMBA ZAZU I have a suggestion. Why not tell us a patch will take something like 2 days until it is up and running. So that when we do log on, we are suprised that it did not take the whole 2 days. In this way, CCP would look like they have their act together instead of what we get every time a patch is deployed. This would be better than stringing us along...that it will need to be extended every hour until who knows when.
Because the same juvenile impatient sociopaths that cry when a DT over-runs would whine just as hard that they could have played with their pixels a few hours quicker if they'd known it was up early

When I go hunting it is inevitable my wife is going to complain and say "What time will you be home?" I always tell her 5 hours past when I think I am going to be home. That way if I run late I am still on time... if I get home when I thought I would be, I'm early. Being early usually has a lot better consequences than being late
Try this strategy next time and the Eve community will love you!
Until you get home "on time" and find the wife in bed with the milkman because they thought they had a few hours left to themselves...

Did you read the bit about the network provider going down, in the first post on page one. Did you? No really... DID YOU?
That wasn't the patch it was a crash, by an external supplier.
